OUR MISSION
Dedicated to fostering pride in Eden Prairie through the
support of community organizations and projects that create
a better quality of life and make the city a special place
to live and work.
The Mission Statement of the Eden Prairie Foundation is clearly
defined above. The general mission for each committee is directed
by the Board; however, it will be up to the Committee Chairman
and members of the committee to determine the specific objectives
and activities of the committee.
The Ball Chair: To develop and execute a
plan for the major fund-raising event that will meet Foundation
objectives.
Century Club: To develop and execute a plan
for the general fund-raising program that will meet Foundation
objectives.
Distribution: To receive grant applications
and then investigate the needs and merits of potential recipients
of the funds of the Foundation and make recommendations to
the Board with regards to the distribution of such funds.
Eagle Scout/Gold Award: To receive applications
for scholarships; award scholarships according to Board approved
guidelines and budget and participate in the public ceremony
for award distribution.
Finance: To develop a budget for the fiscal
year to be approved by the Board; select the auditor, and
provide fiscal oversight for the Board.
Major Projects: To investigate the needs
and merits of projects to benefit the community larger in
scope than grant applications, and make recommendations to
the Board in both program selection, funding and execution
of such projects.
Marketing and Communications: To assess
the membership to determine interests in the mission of the
Foundation, and then develop and execute a program to use
the most effective tools available to the Foundation to inform
the community and market the mission of the Foundation.
Nominating: To develop and execute a recruiting
program for the Foundation Board Directors, Ball Chairs and
Officers, and present nominees to the Board for approval prior
to the May monthly Board meeting each year.
